| "The event has special significance because it is being held in the year which celebrates the golden jubilee of the launch of the first artificial satellite of the earth -- the Russian Sputnik I. The year 2007 also celebrates the 50th anniversary of the International Geophysical Year and the 40th anniversary of Outer Space Treaty," a press release said. |
| About 2,000 participants from various international space agencies, academic institutions and industries would participate in the event. |
