JD(S), which has three MPs, today extended support to the Congress for the formation of a "secular" government at the Centre.
"They (Congress) requested our party's support... We wanted to give support to secular forces. Actually they (Congress) requested us to co-ordinate with them....We are giving support," JD (S) leader H D Kumaraswamy said. Kumaraswamy had yesterday met senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad.
The JD(S) leader had said that their expectation from the new government is to get "more benefit for Karnataka's development."
