Jharkhand gets woman chief justice

President Pratibha Patil today appointed Justice Gyan Sudha Misra as the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court.

Justice Misra is currently a judge in the Rajasthan High court.

According to an official release, the President also appointed Justice Balbir Singh Chauhan as Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court.

Justice Chauhan is currently judge of the Allahabad High Court.

Besides, the president appointed Kamalkishor Kapoorchandji Tated, Prasanna Bhalachandra Varale and Shahrukh Jimi Kathawalla, as additional judges of the Bombay High Court, according to the release.

Also, the President appointed Krishnaswami Chandru, V Ramasubramanian, S Mani Kumar and A Selvam as additional Judges of the Madras High Court.
