The human resource development (HRD) ministry of Jharkhand will provide free laptops to all college toppers in three streams - Arts, Science and Commerce - from FY09.HRD Minister Bandhu Tirkey said his department was working out a blueprint and making budgetary provisions for implementing the scheme from the next financial year.The minister was confident that the awards and awareness among students would lead to the improvement of the quality of education at the college level.The awards would be extended to the school level also at a later date. The minister said students who topped classes and those reporting the best attendence would also be given awards.
