In an attempt to ensure corruption- free governance, the coalition government led by Arjun Munda in Jharkhand has decided to introduce an act in the ensuing monsoon session of the state Assembly to curb corruption in the state.
The recent report of the state vigilance bureau stated that a total 80 government officials were arrested on bribery charge during the period of last ten months. The bureau seized Rs 2,51,000 from them.
The state government is also working on bringing the ‘Right to Service Act’ to provide speedy services to the citizens of the state.
Chief minister said receiving services from the state government employees in time was a fundamental right of the citizens and hence the government was bringing the service act to provide services to the people within a reasonable fixed deadline.
Munda said that in the absence of service act, people have been facing much trouble to receive services like issue of various certificates including caste, residential, birth and death besides passport verification in time in the government offices.
He said that the state government was also considering to bring an ordinance to increase the strength of doctors in the state-run hospitals and primary health centers to provide proper health services to the people.
