With a view to providing a new paradigm for management with flexibility and also to initiate a dialogue on the emerging areas of corporate as well as societal interest, the Jaipuria Institute of Management (JIM), Lucknow, in association with the Global Institute of Flexible Systems Management (GIFT), Delhi, organised a national conference on 'Interdependence, Integration and Co-creation' (IIC 2007) in Lucknow. |
Among various possibilities that were discussed in the conference was the need to create "Special Tourism Economic Zones", to promote India as worthy tourist destination; an idea tossed by A P Verma, former chief secretary, Uttar Pradesh government. |

The conference was organised around six prominent sectors of the Indian economy, namely banking, retail, telecom, tourism and hospitality, manufacturing and information technology. The two-day conference had prominent speakers to unveil upcoming trends in different sectors. |

Speaking on the occasion Dr Devi Singh, director, IIM, Lucknow, referring to banking in the country said that technology can act as a catalyst for growth and globalisation of the Indian banking sector. He focused on credit penetration and inclusive banking. |

Neeru Singh, assistant stores manager, Big Bazaar (Lucknow), said that the parameter of success in retail is its ability to make money. |

While JD Singh, director, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida, informed that retailing is a booming sector and best way to manage risk is to have good people. He also showed his concern regarding the closure of 'Reliance-Fresh' retail store in UP. |

Also present on the occasion, Satish Kumar, GM (Mobiles), UP (East), BSNL, discussed various problems, opportunities in Telecom Sector in relation to BSNL. |
