The dingy employment exchanges (EEs) of old will shortly take on a corporate look. |
Instead of winding up EEs as recommended by the Administrative Reforms Commission headed by former minister Haranahalli Ramaswamy, the Karnataka government's labour department is venturing to make these job exchanges an online, round-the-clock, registering and recruiting agency for both state departments and the private sector. |
Job hunters can look for job details and equip themselves for interviews and competitive examinations as well. |
Discarding the old name of employment exchanges, these 26 government agencies, will carry the name "employment parks" to fall in trend with "technology parks". |
"Private companies spend huge amounts on advertising for job recruitments. Instead they can avail the employment park's online recruitment facility. Companies will be requested to register their job needs in these parks. This will benefit the local job hunters also," says Labour Minister Tanvir Sait. |
