During the past two- and-half-a-years, the Chhattisgarh government has signed several MoUs with private investors, involving a total of Rs 65,000 crore investments, the state chief minister, Ajit Jogi, said here today.

Works for many of these agreements had already been grounded, and the remaining were also in the process of take off, he said. The new state is already power surplus, and the government is creating new infrastructure facilities.

It enhanced funds for laying roads to Rs 1,000 crore as against a mere Rs 60 crore per annum that this part of the state used to get earlier, Jogi said. He was here to welcome Sonia Gandhi who would visit the tribal areas in his state.
