The Karnataka High Court today adjourned the hearing on the petitions filed by 11 rebel BJP MLAs, challenging their disqualification from the state Assembly to Thursday.
The case came up before Justice V G Sabhahith, the third judge in the case, after the court delivered a split verdict two days ago. Counsels for the rebel MLAs, B V Acharya, Ravi Varma Kumar and K G Raghavan argued the case but government counsel Soli Sorabjee did not get the time to take part in the proceedings.
Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice N Kumar had differed on the provisions of Para 2 (1) (a) of the 10th Schedule of the Constitution that deals with disqualification of members of a legislature.
