| Speaking after inaugurating the Mini Vidhana Soudha in Dharwad, Prakash claimed that the Prime Minister had appreciated 'bhoomi', a project to computerise land records in Karnataka. The representatives of SAARC countries were studying the Karnataka model. |

| The minister said that with computerisation and the availability of the Internet, a person can buy a property and register it in any part of the state without actually going there in person. |

| He said that so far land records of 70 lakh farmers in the state had been digitised at a cost of Rs 100 crore. Steps to preserve old records were being taken. To speed up the survey work, the government had decided to appoint 2,000 private surveyors. |

| Prakash said that the government had decided to extend the yellow card facility to the poor who possess a colour TV and mobile phones and the government order to this effect would be issued soon. |

| He asserted that the government was committed to fufilling its promise of decentralisation of power and was taking several steps in that direction. |
