To attract more tourists, the department plans to combine travel and ayurvedic treatment as the USP during the period. The package is already drawing an increasing number of tourists mostly from Germany, Britain, Russia and France. The monsoon season begins in June and ends in September.
This time, the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) is organising road shows to create awareness of its age-halt ayurveda treatment. "Our age-halt programme, launched last year, has sparked huge interest among the tourists both in India and abroad. It is a unique product that combines ayurvedic treatment and travel," said KTDC managing director N Prashant.

The KTDC has also organised road shows in the Gulf region. It has already started a campaign - Kerala- The Home of Ayurveda' to promote ayurveda in domestic as well as international markets.
Besides, the corporation is setting up a drive-in beach resort at Muzhappilangad beach in Kannur district that it claims to be the largest in Asia. This will be another property of the KTDC with ayurveda therapy facilities.
