Kerala Tourism has roped in the non-resident Keralite (NRK) community to boost the state’s travel and tourism sector. Christened Ente Nadu, the initiative aims at harnessing the support of NRKs to promote tourism.
Toward this, an NRK meet is to be held in Kochi on December 23-24. State tourism minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan unveiled the Ente Nadu logo and also launched a website of the meet.
State-owned Tourism Resorts Kerala Ltd will act as the nodal agency for conducting the event. Partners of the Ente Nadu- Kerala Tourism NRK initiative include the Non-Resident Keralites' Affairs Department, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC), Kerala Financial Corporation (KFC), Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) and the Directorate of Public Relations.
The highlight of the meet will be the introduction of a Malayalee Tourism Brand Ambassador programme, which will provide online opportunities for NRKs to earn special privileges and incentives for motivating people to visit Kerala. Besides, opportunities to partner in private initiative like resorts, hotels, service apartments, and homestays will be created, an official said.
