An industrial estate of about 250 acres has come up adjacent to the Tandya Industrial Area close to Mysore for small scale industries.
Developed by the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB), the 250-acre area is at Kadakola village on the Mysore-Nanjangud highway which leads to Ooty.
The Kadakola industrial area has attracted a number of major industries. It is close to the Mandakalli airport and road development works are on with a ring road close-by. A number of industral units are coming up in this belt.
Of the 250 acres in different survey numbers, 190 acres are being made available for SSIs of all sizes. The remaining area comprises one acre commercial area, six acres park area, one and half acre civic amenities, three acres of public utility and 26.5 acre roads. Canal area is spread around 9.8 acre.
Industrial plots of three sizes are being offered by KIADB for SSIs with Rs 3 crore investment ceiling. Applications have been invited for quarter acre, half acre and one acre plots in this area which is about 12 km from Mysore, KIADB authorities told Business Standard.
The cost of one acre plot is fixed at Rs 70 lakh tentatively. Interested entrepreneurs should pay 7.5 per cent of the land cost depending upon the size of the plot they require. They can obtain applications from either the Joint Director, District Industries Centre, or the Development Officer, KIADB Zonal Office, Metagalli, Mysore. Last date for submitting application is July 20.
The KIADB is acquiring around 4,000 acres for developing an industrial area near Bilikere, close to Mysore, on Hunsur road.
