Knitwear Complex In Kerala

A Rs 100-crore integrated knitwear complex with an annual capacity to produce 4.8 million pieces of ready-made garments is being planned in Chadayankalzhi taluka of Palakkad district in Kerala.

The foundation stone for the project, being promoted by Gulf Malayalees under the name Mhackmans Textile Ltd (MTL), would be laid on August 22.

MTL managing director K Chandran said 23 acres of land had been acquired for setting up the complex.

The project would be completed in three phases. In the first phase, Rs 30 crore would be spent on setting up spinning and processing units.

In the second phase, Rs 40 crore would be spent on setting up a knitting unit, he said.

The stitching and finishing units would be commissioned after the completion of the third phase involving an investment of Rs 30 crore, he added.
