Kokilaben Hospital keen to enter into tie-up with Assam govt

Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute of Mumbai is keen to enter into a tie-up with the Assam government for imparting and disseminating medical expertise and knowledge to the medical fraternity of the state through their team of specialists.

A delegation of the hospital called on Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi Friday evening to propose the strengthening of the super speciality healthcare services here and participate in various government healthcare programmes, said official sources today.

The delegation, headed by the Hospital and Research Institute's vice president Zubin Daruwalla, apprised Gogoi about the slew of initiatives taken up by them, including the economic health check up package 'Swasthyaban Uttar Poob' exclusively for the people of the northeastern states.

The special health package at Rs 49,000 includes to and fro airfare between Guwahati and Mumbai, two nights stay in Mumbai, all meals, sight-seeing in Mumbai and all local transfers, Daruwalla said.

Stating the hospital had also launched an OPD centre in Guwahati to serve the people of the region, he said, "Our senior consultants visit the Guwahati clinic regularly and provide telemedicine consultations". The chief minister said his government is looking forward to a long and fruitful association with the hospital in further improving healthcare services in the state, the sources added.
