Meanwhile, KRCL is confident that the Skybus technology will get the approval of the central government and claims that it already has two Indian operators to finance the system. |
KK Gokhale, managing director (MD) of KRCL said that the Goa government's decision to opt for the monorail in the State would not affect the Skybus project. |
"We would have loved to start the project first in Goa, but these are political decisions and will have no bearing on the prospects of the Skybus technology," he said. |
KRCL has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two Indian companies, which will finance the Skybus technology. Gokhale is confident that the Urban Development Ministry will approve the project within a couple of months. |
Gokhale, who is skeptic about the viability of the Monorail project in a small state like Goa asked, "Will there be enough traffic to make the Rs 1000 crore project financially viable?" |
