Kribhco urea production touches new high in '04-05

Krishak Bharati Co-operative (Kribhco), a prime multi-state co-operative society, having its giant fertiliser complex at Hazira in Surat, has achieved its highest ever urea production in the financial year 2004-05.

"Kribhco produced 18.05 lakh metric tonne urea in the financial year 2004-05, which is the highest ever production in any year. The earlier record was 17.73 lakh metric tonne, achieved in the previous year," a spokesman, said.

He said that the record feat has been possible only due to the far-sightedness of the management, and the dedicated and untiring efforts of the officers and staff.

Kribhco has achieved excellent results at all levels of operations, starting from production to financial returns, and marketing to the services provided to the farming community, the spokesman said.

He also said that the Hazira plant of Kribhco won the top award constituted by National Productivity Council in the category of Bio Fertiliser Production Sector for the year 2003-04.

Kribhco has also been adjudged one of the best organisations by the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial National Awards. Kribhco has been selected for the prestigious 'Excellent Energy Conservation Control Implementation Gold Award'.

The award would be presented to the company later this month in Hyderabad.
