Kumar takes over as secretary in pharma dept

Kumar, who had been heading NPPA since December 5, 2005, is credited for his consumer-friendly initiatives that have kept medicine prices under check. Of the prices of 6,939 medicine packs fixed by NPPA since its inception a decade ago, 4,050 was during his three year tenure.
