One day after the JD(S) dumped the BJP in Karnataka, the former is facing desertion with more than 22 legislators threatening to quit the party.

The rebels received a shot in the arm with former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy admitting that he was upset with the "interference" of his father and party supremo H D Deve Gowda in the party affairs.

"The party is not heading in the right direction. I am worried. We are no in favour of forming a government with the Congress," Kumaraswamy told reporters after meeting the disgruntled party legislators in Bangalore on Tuesday.

The 22 legislators, led by former ministers N Cheluvarayaswamy and Amaregouda Patil Bayyapure, urged Kumaraswamy to walk out of the party to form a new outfit.

"I am giving it a serious thought. I had not consulted my father while forming the government with the BJP last year. On Monday, my hands were tied because of various reasons," he added.

Meanwhile, the BJP, which held its legislature party meeting on Tuesday, has planned a state-wide stir to condemn the JD(S).
