The Orissa government will send a police team, headed by a lady IPS officer to New Delhi to trace the catholic nun who was allegedly raped at K Nuagaon in south Orissa’s Kandhamal district during a bandh on August 25.
The nun, who had reportedly taken shelter at a church in Delhi, was not found when additional resident commissioner, M Satyanarayan visited the location. Satyanarayan has been asked to take the help of the archbishop of Delhi, said T K Mishra, the home secretary of the Orissa government.
Talking to the media here, Mishra said the crime branch of police probing the case, would seek help of the nun's family to bring her to Orissa to cooperate in the crime branch investigation.
Meanwhile, the riot hit Kandhamal district is limping back to normalcy with no untoward incident being reported in the past four days.
"The district has been totally incident free in the last four days and we hope that normalcy will soon be restored in the district", Kishan Kumar, the district collector told Business Standard on Monday.
