Former Bihar Chief Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav caused a flutter by accusing the CBI of liquidating him in the garb of taking him on remand.
Counsel for Yadav, Shakeel Ahmed Khan, in a petition moved on behalf of his client, claimed before the court of S K Lal that the CBI joint director (east) U N Biswas wanted to take Yadav on police remand with malafide intentions.
Khan told the designated court that his client feared that Biswas was hell bent upon to take Yadav outside the state for interrogation in order to finish him.

Yadavs counsel alleged that the investigating agency might administer poison in the food or in tea when his client is taken on CBI remand.
Khan alleged that his client was forced to think in this direction since the CBI Joint Director had shown unwarranted agency in taking his client into custody and sought the armys help to arrest Yadav when he had already declared that he would be surrendering before the designated CBI court on July 30.
Even as an indisposed Yadav did not turn up before the CBI court, 35 other including yet another former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra appeared before the court on summons by the special CBI court.
Mishra is a co-accused in the conspiracy angle case alongwith Yadav. He is already on anticipatory bail granted by justice Dharmapal Sinha of the Patna High Court.
After the time frame was over, Mishra furnished two suriety bonds of Rs 50,000 each in the designated court and was released on bail. all the accused have been remanded the judicial custody till August 20.
CBI counsel D R Ansari took strong exception to non-production of Yadav before the court and said that a drama had been enacted to avoid the production of Yadav before the court. In fact the former Bihar Chief Minister had been hospitalised keeping in mind this fact only.
The judge then sought a detail report from the management of the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS, Patna) where Yadav had been lodged and asked the director IGIMS to submit detailed report by August 13.
So far Yadav becoming sick is concerned two cardiologist, A K Mishra and S N Mishra, were rushed to the camp jail when the former Bihar Chief Minister complained of chest pain and uneasiness. The two doctors found the blood pressure fluctuating and advised that Yadav should be transferred to the IGIMS for conducting a series tests and for providing better Medicare.
The jail superintendent of the camp jail called the senior superintendent of police and asked him to make security arrangements in and around the IGIMS campus. Yadav was shifted to IGIMS in a precarious condition at about 11.55 and admitted to the hospital at 12.20 am (Wednesday) by Dr M K Roy, consultant officer, IGIMS.
Earlier, the counsel of Yadav told the designated court that on July 31, U N Biswas had expressed his desire to meet his client in the camp jail in order to humiliate and mentally torture Yadav. Khan also went to the extent of asserting that on August 1, when the RJD had given the call for Bihar Bandh Biswas had expressed his desire to move round the city just to celeberate his victory. However, he was refused permission by the district administration on the grounds of security. All these actions on the part of the joint director. CBI proved beyond that he was having malafide intention against my client, Khan alleged and said adding that the court should issue necessary directives for the protection of his client.
The allegations of Khan were vehemently denied by the CBI counsel who said that Laloo Prasad Yadav might have dreamt about the being eliminated by the investigating agency and told the court that the CBI had no immediate plans for custodial interrogation of Yadav.
CBI judge, S K Lal observed that the allegations levelled by Yadavs counsel were serious in nature and asked the investigating agency to come forward with the reply to the allegations within a week. He also asked the jail authorities to provide the best possible protection to the former chief minister. The food must be properly examined before being served to Yadav and fixed August 13 for next date of hearing.
