"The request of IIT-MK for land is under the active consideration of the government," he said while replying to a submission for setting up the campus here.
Though the government had earlier sanctioned 10 acres at the Technopark here, IIT-MK could not start its campus, he said, adding the land was then given to Tata Consultancy Services to set up their training centre.
The TCS centre had already started functioning and nearly 8,000 students have so far been trained, he added.
