Land registrations in the city resumed on Monday after being stalled for more than two months following strike by the deed writers and lawyers opposing the increase in benchmark price of land. Lawyers had stalled the process since September and the matter has been challenged in the Odisha High Court.
The HC has concluded hearing on the matter and has reserved its judgement. “The registration process resumed on Monday at new rates,” said Saroj Kumar Samal, Sub-Collector, Bhubaneswar. Registration fees of Rs 2 crore were collection on resumption of the process on Monday.
