Le Meridien in welcome-to-Kochi plan

The Kochi property of international hospitality major Le Meridien is becoming the most preferred choice of Gujarati tourists, followed by West Bengal.
 
"Apart from international tourists from European and Gulf countries, most of the domestic tourists in Kerala are from Gujarat, followed by West Bengal," said Karan Singh Bhati, director, business development, Le Meridien, Kochi.
 
He was in Ahmedabad recently on promotional activities of the property. The tourism industry in Kerala has witnessed a growth of over 30 per cent in the last one year. Also, the state is becoming one of the hottest destination across the globe for medical tourism.
 
"Kerala is going to be among the top five travel destinations across the globe as it is becoming the most preferred choice for those who are looking at both business and leisure," said Bhati.
 
Kochi, being the commercial capital of Kerala, is also becoming the hub for corporates from across the country to organise their business meets.
 
"Gujarat is the hub of pharmaceuticals gaints and we are trying to market our Kochi property to the corporates of the state for holding conferences and conventions," said Bhati.
