Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh today attributed its "amazing success" in the Lok Sabha polls to the "good leadership" of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi as well as the collective work of all partymen.
The leadership of the Gandhi family has been "motivating" and the "real driving force" for the Congress workers across the country, the senior leader who is in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, told PTI.
"We have achieved the amazing success because of the good leadership of our leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and collective work of all the party workers and leaders throughout the country," he said.
Singh said after the astounding success of the party in the general elections, there is no question of a change of guard for the post of the Chief Executive of the country and Manmohan Singh will remain the Prime Minister.
Appreciating the Prime Minister, he said, "The policies of the UPA government led by Dr Singh were pro-poor and the people of the country have shown their faith and support for those policies by voting overwhelmingly in favour of the Congress party."
He said that the relief of debt to the farmers by the UPA government was such a big step which has been acknowledged by the people.
