Left to decide on Centre by May 17

The Left Front will take the decision to join the Congress led coalition government in the Centre after its central committee, comprising of all Left parties, meets in Delhi over the next three days.
 
Speaking to the media after the best ever performance by left parties, Left Front chairman Biman Bose said the issue of outside support to the government or being part of the government would be taken up on May 16-17.
 
Left Front won 62 seats nationwide, the best ever performance by them so far. CP(I)M was the largest constituent in the Left Front which include RSP, Forward Block and CPI.
 
LF also made a remarkable comeback in the city Kolkata where it won two of the three seats. Congress (INC) has emerged as the largest opposition in the state leaving behind Mamata Banerjee's All India Trinamool Congress.
 
AITC was routed this time and only Banerjee could hold on to her seat. Out of 42 seats, LF won 35, Congress 5 and AITC 1. The counting for Murshidabad constituency was still on till the time of filing this report.
