A report on holding structure of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchisees is likely to be submitted to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs tomorrow. The report will provide a comprehensive picture of the legal status of each franchisee that owns IPL cricket teams, including possible violations.
The ministry officials will meet registrars of companies (RoCs) from across the country here to understand whether there is a prima facie violation of Companies Act by IPL franchises with regard to their legal compliance requirement.
"The RoCs from all 18 regions will be meeting the ministry officials and will brief them about the status of IPL franchises, among other issues," said a ministry official.
