More than 36 hours after the kidnapping of three-year-old Anant Gupta, son of a CEO of Adobe Systems, from near his house here yesterday morning, there was little headway in the investigations, which were joined by Delhi Police. |
UP Police despatched teams to various parts of the state to search for Anant on the basis of clues provided by domestic help and security guards even as his father Naresh Gupta, who returned home from the US early this morning, appealed to the media to avoid sensationalising the case. |
"The more you are covering the incident, it will cause more trouble for our child... My child's life is in danger," an emotional Gupta told reporters outside his residence. |
"Please do not cover this issue anymore. We do not have any information about the child. The last time we saw him was at 8:50 am yesterday," Gupta, who is in-charge of Adobe's operations in India, said. |
Meanwhile, Delhi Police have begun a "parallel investigation" into the abduction, taking into view the possibility of the kidnappers sneaking into the capital. |

The anti-kidnapping wing of the Crime Branch and Special Cell are collecting inputs about the activities of various criminal gangs. |
