Low share of agriculture in GDP must for growth

India's dependence on the agriculture sector should come down gradually to maintain a GDP growth rate of 7-8 per cent, chief economic advisor to the Union ministry of finance Ashok V Lahiri said.
 
Addressing members of Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) here, Lahiri said share of agriculture in GDP in countries like Malaysia and Thailand was only 10 per cent whereas it was still at 24 per cent in India.
