The Maharashtra government has announced an eight-year holiday on non-agriculture (NA) tax and waived the requirement for NA clearance of land acquisition for small ports, multi-purpose jetties and cargo terminals.
Projects involving the construction of small ports, multi-purpose jetties and cargo terminals have been given industry status by the state government.
Accordingly, there is no need for non-agriculture (NA) permission due to a change in land user, official sources said.
In addition, after completion of projects, the government has made appropriate provisions for waiver of non-agriculture tax for eight years. The decision was taken as per provisions of the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, 1966, officials said. All the projects cleared by the Maharashtra Maritime Board will be the beneficiaries, officials added.
