The Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (MCCIA) has lined up initiatives to sensitise its members on environment-friendly practices and managing waste.

To be undertaken by the chamber's environment sub-committee, these include workshops and interactive sessions as well as experience-sharing with those who are in the forefront of environment protection, Vandana Chavan, chairman of the sub-committee, told the media on Tuesday.

Chavan said the chamber would involve civic officials as well as elected representatives to make Pune a more eco-friendly city.

This would be in the form of a convention of the elected representatives of municipal corporations and other local bodies.

The committee would also focus on the issue of electronic and computer waste.
