Malaysia to help India sign trade deal with Asean

Malaysia is in negotiations for a free trade agreement (FTA) between India and the Association of Southeast Asian nations (Asean) and will offer a platform for Indian corporates willing to tap potential markets in the region.
 
"At present, Malaysia is leading the ongoing negotiations with India on the Asean-India FTA, which is expected to cover trade in goods, services and investment," Tan Sri Halim Mohamad, chairman of Malaysian External Trade and Development Corporation (MATRADE), said today at a Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) seminar on Malaysia-India business opportunities.
