A waste management plant will be functional in the city soon, said J Krishna Palemar, district in-charge minister.
A compost plant and landfill sites have been developed for solid waste management in the city he said. The total cost involved in the project would be around Rs 15 crore.
The minister also informed that the Mangalore Urban Development Authority has readied a blueprint for nearly 130 houses on 10 acres at the Padavu village.
The establishment of a Coastal Development Authority, provisions for which were made in the budget would certainly give a fillip to development activities in the region he added.
