Mayors want more power

Mayors in the country complained that they did not have enough powers and as a result they were not taken seriously by the officials and staff. At the All India Council of Mayors conference underway in Raipur, the members passed a resolution demanding more powers for them. The resolution said lack of administrative powers of the mayors was hampering infrastructure development in the city limits.
