The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) today said it will organise special camps from this week for issuance of trade licenses in the city .
The move came after the MCD House passed a revised and simplified policy for issuing and renewal of trade and storage licenses at its meeting yesterday.
The policy was adopted by the MCD Standing Committee last month.
The civic body has come out with a booklet containing details on the new policy.
To make the citizens aware of the necessary procedures and formalities, the MCD will publish advertisements in leading newspapers on the new trade license policy, officials said.
The corporation has also set up a committee to look into the issue of creating an online system for issuing of factory licenses, which will submit its report by September 1.
The MCD has issued 869 factory licenses so far this year while the number was 954 in 2007-08. As many as 9049 units were fined in 2007-08 for running their factories without license, officials said.
