The State Cabinet on Tuesday approved the inclusion of the Centrally sponsored Mid-Day Meal programme under the department of school & mass education. The programme was earlier handled by the women & child development department.
The Cabinet also gave its nod for the assembly monsoon that it set to begin from August 17. It also approved the consolidated report of the Lokpal for 2010-11.
"The Cabinet has approved the inclusion of the Mid-Day Meal programme under the department of school & mass education.
This scheme was originally handled by the women & child development department. The matter relating to forged SC/ST certificates has been deferred till the next Cabinet meeting”, state Chief Secretary B K Patnaik briefed reporters after the Cabinet meet.
The case pertaining to regularization of service of 403 forest guards and 72 foresters has been referred to the law department.
The matter will be taken up at the next Cabinet meeting. These forest guards and foresters have been on contractual service since 2006.
