The activists of Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) today attacked Bangladeshi novelist Taslima Nasreen when she came here to release the Telugu version of her latest book, Shodh, at the Press Club.Around 20 MIM activists, led by the party's legislators Afsar Khan, Ahmed Pasha and Mozum Khan, stormed the Press Club conference hall, and some of them reached the dias and attacked Nasreen. The activists also attacked photographers and organisers of the function. The activists and legislators were later taken into custody by the police.Taslima Nasreen, whose banned novel Lajja created a hue and cry among Muslim organisations, was escorted safely to the airport by the police with the help of journalists.
