Senior Congress leader Jagannath Mishra, along with his wife Veena Mishra, yesterday resigned as PCC delegates in protest against the massive rigging in organisational polls and announced that the dissidents would chalk out future course of action at a crucial meeting in Patna on June seven.

Replying to questions, Mishra said he and his supporters would take a final decision as to who should be backed for the party presidentship a day before June nine, the day fixed for election of the new president.

The former Bihar Chief Minister, who was addressing a press conference here along with two other MPs, S S Ahluwalia and Gyan Ranjan, said he had convened a meeting of workers from panchayat to pradesh level in Patna on June seven to decide future course of action against the irregularities committed in the polls.

We appeal to partymen to ensure the defeat of Sitaram Kesri in the election to the post of party president so that the party can be saved from destruction, Mishra said, adding under Kesris leadership, the Congress has no future and it is doomed.
