Taking a dig at the Gujarat government's announcement of Rs 2250 crore package for its employees, the state opposition party Congress called the move a farce.
“There is nothing new in the package being announced by the Gujarat government. The whole Rs 2250 crore package for its employees is a farce. The government is only going to pay up the old promises made by it," said Congress leader Shankersinh Vaghela in a press briefing here on Friday.
Vaghela also said that over 100,000 state government employees will retire by 2015. "While people are retiring, there are no recruitments taking place at the Gujarat government offices. The state government is mostly outsourcing its work or giving out on contractual basis," he further added.
