Modi stays home

Narendra Modi, the chief minister of Gujarat, yesterday refused to meet the media and even his party colleagues. Modi did not come to the BJP office at Khanpur in Ahmedabad, he was not there at Sachivalaya, the state secretariat, and could not be reached by hounding mediamen.
 
With the anti incumbency causing a major setback for the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), Modi stayed confined at his residence throughout the day and refused to speak to the media.
 
While both his secreteries, Anil Mukim and Hasmukh Adhia attended the chief minister at his residence office, his personal secretary Jadish Thakkar was relieved early from his job yesterday.
 
"There is a strict order from the chief minister, not to allow any body to enter his residence. He do not want to speak to the media ," said security officials at Modi's residence. When asked to comment about the election results, the security official said, "What ever happened, has happened for good."
 
CM's personal secretary Jadish Thakkar said, "Chief minister stayed at his residence in Gandhinagar and even did not go to his office at Sachivalya.
 
He worked from his residence office along with his principal secretaries Hasmukh Adhia and Anil Mukim."
 
While Suresh Mehta, senior BJP state leader, said, "The results of the elections were unexpected shocking for the BJP but we have to accept the fact. All BJP leaders of the state will sit and decide on the cause of the defeat."
 
"Anti-incumbecy wave resulted in the shocking defeat of BJP, We faught elections on the basis of development, but people seemed to be convinced with the Congress idea's of negetivity, we will have a meeting of our leaders and will discuss the issue in details. It seems we need to work harder," said Ashok Bhatt, state law minister.
 
When asked about Modi's whereabouts, one party worker at the BJP party office said, "Modi is the lion of Gujarat and is not afraid of any one."
