The Small Industries Service Institute and the Mohali Industries Association will be organising the "Punjab Industrial Exhibition, 2006, and the Vendor Development Programme" in Mohali during February 10-12.

At least 100 small and medium enterprises and 8-10 large-scale entrepreneurs will take part.

The exhibition will showcase engineering items like sheet metal components, steel forgings, fasteners and bath room fittings, besides electronic items, telecom equipment and rubber and hosiery products and machinery.

With this event, the SISI is planning to generate business queries worth about Rs 4 crore. Around four years ago, the figure for the same event stood at Rs 2 crore.

Speaking to Business Standard, SISI Assistant Director N K Verma said, "The purpose is to create opportunities for vendor development programmes, besides holding the industrial exhibition. We will be promoting vendors related to engineering, electronics, rubber goods and telecom equipment, etc. Once the gap between the large and the small sectors are bridged, both will benefit. Moreover, in such exhibitions they get a chance to interact directly."
