Accompanied by a high-level delegation including Minister for Industries Yashodhara Raje Scindia and senior officials, the chief minister would meet senior officials of JICA (Japan International and Cooperation Agency) and JBIC (Japan Bank for International Cooperation), JETRO (Japan External Trade Organisation).
JETRO is funding early-bird project in Madhya Pradesh at Dhar-Mhow-Pithampur region under Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor project.
A special purpose vehicle has already been floated for the project, which will invite private developers to develop, operate and maintain real estate projects and commercial development on Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis and operation and maintenance of selected trunk infrastructure. Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and JETRO will lend funds for the project. "The chief minister will discuss about investment potential in the project and funding also with the three organisations. The chief minister is also going to meet Mizuho Bank officials and officials of new business development department.In Tokyo he and the delegation will discuss about funding from JETRO with various officials and hold a discussion with potential investors of Osaka (Japan)," a highly-placed government source told Business Standard.
Among industrialists and investors, Chouhan and Scindia will meet Masao Yoshida, chairman Furukawa Electric, Yoshihiko Yamada of Panasonic Corporation, etc. The delegation will also pay visit to Hiroshima Memorial. In Korea the chief minister will visit Samsung officials and visit Songdo Smart City. A road-show has also been organized on 6th October at Seoul.
"The visit would further strengthen trade ties with Japan and Korea in accordance with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ambitious 'Make in India' campaign. Both the countries had participated in the Global Investors Summit in 2014 as partner countries," a senior government official said.
