Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, inaugurated the global positioning system (GPS)-enabled bus service in Indore city today.The Chief Minister announced that several new infrastructural projects were being planned for the city including a metro rail and and international airport."We want to develop Indore as a model for other cities in the state. The state government plans to provide a metro rail service for the city at the earliest. An international airport is essential for the promotion of IT and related Industries," Chouhan said.The GPS-enabled bus service was started in March this year with six buses and was later expanded to 37 buses. Similar bus services would be launched in Bhopal, Gwalior and Jabalpur soon, the CM said.Vivek Agrawal, executive director of the newly formed Indore City Transport Services Corporation, said that the GPS-enabled city bus service is provided only in two-three cities across the world.
