Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has urged industrialists in the state to play a bigger role in developing Indore as an industrial city. He assured the state government's uncompromising assistance in implementing the projects put forward by them. |
He was speaking at the inauguration of a newly constructed road at Sanver industrial area, built by the state audyogik kendra vikas nigam. "Without basic infrastructure, we cannot think of development," Chauhan said, adding that public participation and capital investments are necessary for industrial development. |

"For the development of industries in state, we are going to organise an NRI meet in Bhopal," he said. He also said in the last two years, the state government has constructed 17,000 km of roads and in the next few years, it has set a target of constructing 30,000 km of roads in the state. |

"The government has irrigated around eight-lakh hectares of land," he added. Speaking on the occasion, BJP national vice president and the MP, Sumitra Mahajan, appealed to the state government and the Chief Minister, to provide unds for setting up better infrastructural facilities in the state. |

"Roads are the foundation for industrial development," she said. About 9.44 km roads have been built by the state government spending Rs 7 crore and additional 25 kms are to be constructed at a cost of Rs 18 crore. |
