After converting almost all prominent roads of MP into toll roads through the build-operate-transfer (BOT) route, the state government will soon launch its first BOT-based toll parking for industrial areas. To begin with the Mandideep industrial area (near Bhopal), the project worth Rs 30 crore approximately will not only reduce traffic congestion in the industrial area but will also provide extra facilities for industrial units and haulers.
The state department of industry will soon join hands with Bhopal-based Sandhya Prakash Ltd, a leading evening newspaper and printing company of repute, to create the logistics facilities.
The Great Logistics and Parking Services Pvt Ltd, a special purpose vehicle created for the purpose, will develop the facility.
“The facility will have a capacity for 500 vehicles (including heavy vehicles), a weigh bridge, a warehouse, auto repair shops, auto spare shops, a service station, petrol pumps, an office for transporters and fire brigade,” Jitendra Tiwari, chief executive officer of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development Madhya Pradesh (Cedmap), told Business Standard. Cedmap is advisor on the project.
Besides, other facilities like banks, ATMs, dormitories, hotels, small restaurants, clinics and medical facilities, small super stores will also be created at the area.
The Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam (AKVN), a subsidiary of the department of industry, will be partner in the project.
