The government has received complaints from Member of Parliaments about the implementation of its flagship scheme Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY), Lok Sabha was informed on Thursday.
"The complaints mainly relate to inaction by the implementing authorities, no separate fundings by the government etc," Minister of State for Rural Development Ram Kripal Yadav said in a written reply.
He also informed that the Ministry has received many suggestions regarding the convergence of various existing schemes mainly relating to basic services such as health, water, electricity, roads, housing and education.
Under the SAGY scheme, MPS from all political parties adopt villages with an aim to transform them into model villages and take the responsibility of developing physical and institutional infrastructure in these areas.
The villages will be developed through the implementation of existing schemes and certain new initiatives which will be designed as per local context.
