Minister of State for Railways R Velu will flag off the train service on the newly laid broad gauge track between Mysore and Chamarajanagar on November 11.
Chamarajanagar MP M Shivanna told the press that Velu would flag off the first train on the broad gauge line at 11 am on November 11 at Chamarajanagar.
Commuters between Chamarajanagar and Mysore will feel happy over the resumption of the train services after a prolonged delay, he said.
Even though works on a number of bridges and renovation of works of the major railway stations enroute are to be completed, the Railways had accorded green signal for resuming train services, after ensuring safety clearances, the MP said.
The train service on the Mysore-Nanjangud section of Chamarajanagar became operational in June last.
Though Railway authorities intended to start the train services to Chamarajanagar on November 1, the Rajyotsava Day, it could not be done because of the minister’s tight schedule.
