Nahan, in Himachal Pradesh's Sirmaur district, may soon have a steel plant if land is given by the Himachal Pradesh government to the Union ministry of steel, chemicals and fertilisers. |
This information was given by the Union steel minister Ram Vilas Paswan in Nahan. |
"We are looking for around 25 acres in and around Nahan and have already written to the state government in this connection and are waiting for a reply," said Paswan. |
"We are ready to pay Rs 50 crore to Rs 100 crore for this land and would like to start construction on the steel plant the moment the state government finds suitable land," Paswan added. |
He said he would talk to the railway ministry for laying a broad gauge railway line from Panchkula to Dehradun via Poanta Sahib in Himachal Pradesh. |
Paswan said this would help the upcoming industrial units in Sirmaur district as there was no railway line connecting the district. |
