Narendra Mohan, BJP MP and chief editor of leading Hindi daily Dainik Jagran, died at Apollo Hospital here this morning, following multi-organ failure. Mohan, 68, was shifted to Apollo Hospital from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in a critical condition with fungal septicemic shock and multi-organ dysfunction. Despite all efforts, his condition did not improve and he died at 11.45 am.
He will be cremated in Kanpur tomorrow. Mohan, is survived by wife, two sons and a daughter.
Mohan, a member of the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh, had actively campaigned for allowing foreign direct investment in the print media.

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, Bharatiya Janata Party president M Venkaiah Naidu, general secretary Arun Jaitley and Congress leader Motilal Vora visited the residence of the departed member of Parliament and offered floral tributes.
Condoling his death, Vajpayee said Mohan had a defining influence in the growth of Hindi journalism and worked tirelessly to uphold the ideals of objective, issue based and patriotic journalism.
