Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would give away national awards to
successful Micro, Small and Medium enterprises (MSMEs) and banks here on Saturday.
The awards are instituted by the ministry of Micro, Small & Medium enterprises (MSME). Union minister for MSMEs Mahabir Prasad would preside over the function.
The National Awardees include successful entrepreneurs in the MSME sector, khadi and village industries and coir sector under different categories. Special Awards for women, Scheduled tribed and scheduled castes and the entrepreneurs from North Eastern Region would also be given away.
Banks that have excelled in lending to the MSE sector would also be awarded.
The recipients of the first national awards and special awards for women, SC/ST and North-east region would get Rs 100,000, the second Rs 75,000, and the third Rs 40,000.
